Ivanšćica , also Ivanščica or Ivančica , is the highest mountain in northwestern Croatia. The mountain is located in the Croatian Highlands in the Varaždin County . The northern slope, which descends towards the Bednja valley , has an alpine character.
The Pasarićeva kuća mountain hut is located at an altitude of 1054 m . In pre-Ottoman and Ottoman times, some fortresses were located near the mountain because of its strategic importance.
