Ivan Engler (director)
Ivan Engler (* 1971 in Winterthur , Switzerland ) is a Swiss director .
Life
Ivan Engler attended to study beginnings of Biology and Medicine , the School of Art and Design Zurich ( HGKZ ). During this time he was active as a visual jockey , including for the Swiss trip-hop band Swandive and the sporting event freestyle.ch . After graduating from a technical college in 2000 as a qualified film designer , he founded the production company visualscience.net for services in the fields of visual effects and post-production . His diploma film “Nomina Domini” received several international prizes and awards, including “Best Foreign Short Film” at the Semana Internacional de Cine Fantástico Málaga and for “Best Cinematography”. Since 2007 he has also been working as a creative director .
In 2001 he began working on his 2009 feature film “ Cargo ” , the first science fiction film from Swiss production.
