The Ives Ice Rise is a 1.5 km long ice dome in the southwest of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It rises at the head of Weber Inlet on the Beethoven Peninsula .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using aerial photographs from the United States Navy from 1967 to 1968 and Landsat photographs from 1972 and 1973. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1988 after the American composer Charles Ives ( 1874-1954).
