Izuogu Z-600

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Izuogu Z-600 was a model car from Nigeria . The manufacturer was the engineer Ezekiel Izuogu. Izuogu Motors from Naze in the state of Imo was supposed to mass-produce the vehicle.

description

Ezekiel completed his prototype in 1997 . To do this, he designed a four-cylinder engine . The displacement is given depending on the source with 800 cm³ or 1800 cm³. The engine is mounted in the front of the vehicle and drives the front wheels. The top speed is 140 km / h.

Visually, the vehicle is similar to the two passenger car models Peugeot 504 and Renault 4 . With a planned price of $ 2,000, the vehicle was to become the cheapest automobile in the world. Financial and political hurdles prevented a planned series production.

In 2005, other African countries, including South Africa, became aware of the model and made offers to have it produced there. But all these negotiations failed.

On March 11, 2006, armed robbers entered the factory and stole molds for the engine blocks, crankshafts, fenders and other components.
