View of the Jägerkolke from the southwest

The Jägerkolke are more closely spaced Kolke in the Elbaue Magdeburg in the area of the district Randau-Calenberge .

The pools are located on the east bank of the Elbe , east of the Westerhüsen ferry , around the Kapitelwerder area . To the west of the pool surrounded by trees, the cycle and footpath leading from the ferry to Randau-Calenberge leads past the Elbe meadows. The Jägerkolke are located in the floodplain of the Elbe and are therefore often inundated when the Elbe floods. The area around the Kolke is used as pasture.

It is speculated that the Jägerkolke or the Sonnensee , located further south, could be the place where, according to the legend of Wiesenwarters Marie, a young forester drowned. A connection between the legend and the name of the Jägerolke is believed to be possible.
