József Hunics
József Hunics (born March 10, 1936 in Ráckeresztúr ; † July 27, 2012 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian canoeist .
Hunics started in the late 1950s. At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne , he won the bronze medal in the two-man canoe over 10,000 m with Imre Farkas . At the European Championships in 1957 he won bronze and was fifth at the World Championships in 1958. At the European Championships in 1959, Hunics won gold and silver. In addition, Hunnics won six Hungarian titles and won the Hungarian championships over 500, 1000 and 10,000 meters with Imre Farkas in 1956 and 1957. Hunics retired from active sport in 1960 and later worked as a canoe trainer.
