Services

Jörg Eberhard painted oil paintings (still lifes, nudes, landscapes) in the 1980s, the effect of which was primarily based on strong color contrasts and a painterly surface treatment of the picture.

The stay in the Villa Romana in Florence and the preoccupation with the Italian Quattrocento led to a geometrization and architectonization of the pictures, combined with a tendency towards a two-dimensional application of paint in strong colors and contrasts. The objects are reduced to silhouette shapes. The visual vocabulary consists of things (from prehistoric artefacts to the current design) and geometric shapes, from which Jörg Eberhard assembles surreal tableaus.

Since 1997 he has also been creating room-filling paintings on paper webs, with which Eberhard explores the relationship between space, image and decoration and designs entire interiors.
