Jörg F. Nowack (born April 21, 1963 in Nebra ) is a German writer and editor. He lives and works as a media designer, editor and book author in Rudolstadt (Thuringia) and successfully writes children's books and novels.

Life

Jörg F. Nowack was born in Nebra . He is a trained railroad worker, political scientist and IHK-certified media designer and works alongside his work as a freelance editor as an author in Rudolstadt (Thuringia) . Nowack has extensive experience in handling typography as well as in the design of texts, books and book covers.

He spent a large part of his childhood in a bookstore where his love for books and literature was aroused. Nowack has always loved to write. It all began in his school days, when it was signaled early on that his texts were different from those of other students his age.

At an early age he wrote short stories, poems and fragments that were never intended for publication. After several years of professional development, Nowack found his final destination: working with and on texts.

In addition to his work as an author, working with and for children is particularly important to him. Nowack has been publishing holiday travel stories for families with children ('' Lilly and Nikolas '') for some time. Nowack also publishes the book series "Kinkerlitzchen für die Leselust". This is aimed at people who like to read and want to pass on their enthusiasm for the book medium to their children and grandchildren.

In February 2018, his book "The Curious Boy Who Shook the World" was named as a reading recommendation for primary schools by the Working Group for Youth Literature and Media of the Education and Science Union (AJuM).

Professional background

From 1969 to 1979 Nowack attended the Polytechnic High School in Nebra and graduated from the 10th grade. In 1981 and 1982 he worked as a dispatcher for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. From 1982 to 1985 he did his military service in the armed forces. Finally, from 1987 to 1989, he studied state and law at a technical school in Aschersleben; he graduated as a political scientist. He then worked as a research assistant from 1989 to 1994. In 1994 he left the public service for health reasons. From 1998 to 2000 he retrained to become an advertising and media template manufacturer with an IHK degree (typesetter on the computer). This was followed by further training as a trainer in adult education with an IHK degree from 2000 to 2004. In 2004 and 2005 he worked as a self-employed sales representative for books for Coron Verlag (Bertelsmann Group).
