Jörg Niemann

Jörg Niemann (born July 6, 1970 in Münster ) is a professor of industrial engineering with a focus on production at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. Since July 2012 he has headed the Research Center for Life Cycle Excellence (FLiX) there. In addition, he has been managing director of the Institute for Product Development and Innovation (FMDauto) at the University of Düsseldorf since 2016 .

Professional career

After studying industrial engineering / specializing in production engineering, Jörg Niemann was personal assistant to the managing director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Engineering and Automation (IPA) and the Institute for Industrial Manufacturing and Factory Management (IFF) at the University of Stuttgart from 1998 to 2003 . From 2003 to 2008, Niemann was the spokesman for the Life Cycle Management working group. In 2007 he received his doctorate in engineering. on the subject of "Life Cycle Controlling of Production Systems" at Westkämper . From 2008 to 2012 he was Group Leader Life Cycle Management Service Process Control and Product Development at ABB Automation GmbH in Ratingen. From 2011 he was a member of the supervisory board of ABB Automation GmbH. In 2019 he completed his habilitation in the subject "Life Cycle & Services Management" at the [Technical University of Cluj-Napoca | TU Cluj-Napoca] (Klausenburg) in Romania. Jörg Niemann has been a member of the doctoral school there since 2020 for the supervision of doctorates in the field of engineering and management. Niemann is also a member of the Graduate Institute in North Rhine-Westphalia and a board member of the VDI - Niederrheinischer Bezirksverein.
