Jörn Kuchenbecker
Jörn Kuchenbecker (* 1966 in Western Pomerania ) is a German ophthalmologist .
Education and career
He studied medicine at the University of Rostock from 1987 to 1993 and after the state examination began further training in ophthalmology at the University Eye Clinic Rostock (Director: R. Guthoff) until 1995. From 1995 to 1997 he was an assistant doctor at the eye clinic of the clinic Mitte Bremen (Director: Ulrich Demeler). After being recognized as a specialist, he moved to the University Eye Clinic Magdeburg in 1998 (Director: Wolfgang Behrens-Baumann), where he worked as a senior physician until 2004. In 2011 Kuchenbecker completed his habilitation in Magdeburg. From 2005 to 2017 he was chief physician at the eye clinic at Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch . Kuchenbecker was secretary of the German-speaking Society for Intraocular Lens Implantation, Interventional and Refractive Surgery (DGII) from 2007 to 2017.
Scientific and medical work
Kuchenbecker has established several internet applications for ophthalmologists, including an online intraocular lens database ("IOL info") and a web-based color vision test, and is the publisher of the color tables ( Thieme Verlag ) for testing color vision in German, which have been published for over 100 years . The pseudoisochromatic color tables were developed by Jakob Stilling and further developed by Karl Velhagen .
His scientific and medical work also focuses on cataract surgery and neuroophthalmology.
