Saint-Dizier Jewish community
A Jewish community in Saint-Dizier in the Haute-Marne department in the French region of Lorraine had existed since the 19th century at the latest.
history
Many Jews had settled in Saint-Dizier after the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71. They migrated from Alsace and the Moselle area , because these areas were annexed by the German Empire and are now known as the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine .
National Socialist Persecution
During the Second World War most of the Jewish community was deported and murdered.

The Jewish cemetery in Saint-Dizier adjoins the communal cemetery and many gravestones ( Mazevot ) have been preserved.
