Tučapy u Soběslavi Jewish community

The Jewish community in Tučapy u Soběslavi (German Tutschap), a community in the Okres Tábor district of the Jihočeský kraj region in the Czech Republic , has been documented since around 1697. In 1921 she was assigned to the Jewish community in Soběslav .

In the 19th century Tučapy was one of the largest Jewish settlements in the Soběslav region, the Jewish population made up about a third of the total population. Their shops and stores were in Soběslav, where they were initially denied the right to live by a decree.

In 1723 there were 12 Jewish families in Tučapy, before 1850 about 30 families, in 1921 only 17 people, and in 1930 11 people.
