The Jewish cemetery Stráž u Tachova is a Jewish cemetery in Stráž u Tachova (German Neustadtl ), a municipality in the Plzeňský kraj region in southwest Bohemia .

The Stráž Jewish cemetery is located about a kilometer northwest of the village on a hill. He has his own rows of tombs for Kohanim and Levites . In addition to Jews from Stráž, Jews from the villages around Stráž were also buried there. In addition to double hands and jugs for the Kohanim and Levites, the tombstones were also decorated with reliefs of deer, goose, rose, wolf and others.

In 1330 the Jewish cemetery in Stráž was founded. In 1450 it was documented. Its last expansion took place in 1860.

There were tombstones from the 14th and 15th centuries in this cemetery. In total there must have been more than 1000 graves on it.

It was devastated by the fascists and a large part of the tombstones was stolen as building material.

Even after the Second World War , the situation did not improve significantly. While there were around 50 tombstones in the 1960s, only 14 tombstones were found a few years later.

In 2009 the cemetery was cleaned by the German Action Reconciliation and 34 recovered tombstones were erected. Today (2015) the oldest surviving tombstone dates from 1579.

From Stráž to Souměř, a blue-marked educational trail leads past the cemetery.
