Jewish cemetery (Uelzen)
The Uelzen Jewish cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Uelzen in the Uelzen district in Lower Saxony . It is a protected cultural monument .
In the cemetery on Niendorfer Straße there are 37 tombstones for Jews from Uelzen and the surrounding area who died between 1850 and 1940.
history
In 1850 the area of the cemetery at the southern end of Niendorfer Straße was privately acquired by Levy Louis Benjamin and given to the community. The cemetery was expanded to 1,086 m² in 1925 through purchase. In 1960 it was transferred to the regional association of Jewish communities in Lower Saxony . The municipal horticultural department is responsible for maintaining the site and the 37 tombstones.

This documentation contains the photos, transcripts and translations of all stones.
