Jürgen Gronau (born August 25, 1962 in Hamburg ) is a former German soccer player who played 318 games for FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga.

Career

Gronau first trained as a concrete worker , then as a business clerk. He began the football career of the versatile midfielder with FC St. Pauli in the Amateur Oberliga Nord , where he became champion in 1983 and in 1984 as runner-up celebrated the promotion and return of St. Pauli to the 2nd Bundesliga. After relegated to the league in 1985, he achieved two promotions and a march through to the Bundesliga with the club in the following two years. From 1988 to 1997 Jürgen Gronau played 117 games in the Bundesliga, in which he scored eleven goals. In addition, he played 201 games in the 2nd Bundesliga during this period. After his career as a professional player, he was also active for SV Halstenbek-Rellingen and Union 03 Altona . Later he was the coach of the A-junior team at FC St. Pauli.

Today he still played in the traditional team of FC St. Pauli.
