Jürgen Loibl

Jürgen Loibl is a former German national basketball player and sports scientist .

career

From the game year 1963/64 Loibl belonged to the men's team of the USC Heidelberg , after he had taken second place in the German championship with the club's A-youth shortly before. In 1966 he was with the men's team of the USC German champions, from 1969 he was team captain.

In 1972 Loibl moved to the Heidelberg Bundesliga competitor MTV Wolfenbüttel. He worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In 1978 he received his doctorate, the title of his dissertation was "Biomechanical investigation of the free throw movement in basketball".

In 1984 and 1985 he held a professorship for sports science in the field of exercise and training at the University of Hamburg . From 1985 Loibl was employed at the Technical University of Munich as a professor in the field of sports education. As part of his academic work, the focus was on the areas of perception and movement as well as teaching sports games. In 2001 he published the book "Basketball - Genetic Teaching and Learning", in which he described "a new model of introduction to the sports game basketball". At the end of March 2010 he retired.

National team

Between 1964 and 1971 Loibl played 22 international A matches for the Federal Republic of Germany and was part of the FRG squad for the European Championship in autumn 1971.
