Works and creations

Jürgen Wassmuth's works span a broad spectrum of subject areas. For example, the influences of Ulrich Mack and Benedict J. Fernandez can be seen in his black and white reports and projects, in which he observes people in everyday life situations, but which always make the viewer smile or think. He is also known for business reports and image projects for German companies. He uses photography as a transport medium for poetic moods and spaces through to abstraction and alienation. Many of his works are created in long-term projects and in close collaboration with other arts (painting: performances with Barbara Heinisch , music: concert for photography and piano solo, Harald Köster + Atlantik-Passage, concert for photography and chamber orchestra, Gerd Vierkötter, theater , Guido Huonder ).

The artist's most important projects include:

New York Romance (1988), Chernobyl (1990), Putsch in Moscow - 3 days in August (1991), Mexican Portfolio (1994), Kraft-Werke (1999), Metropolis (since 2001), "Atlantic Passage", Polarstern Expedition ANT XXIII / 7 (2006), "Millennium Portrait" (2010), "Lifelines - Portraits and Their Stories" (2016), "Eternity" (2019), "Traces of Life - People on the Lake" (2019)
