J-STAGE

J-STAGE ( Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic ) is a freely accessible database that collects scientific publications from Japanese e-journals . J-STAGE has been operated by the Japanese Ministry of Education since 1998 . 80% of the papers are available in open access .

In September 2016, 1,833 journals with 2,415,500 articles were indexed. There are also 129 conference volumes.

Comparable databases are PubMed and SciELO .
