The J. Bauer GmbH & Co. KG is a German dairy company . The company was founded in 1887 under the name Bauerschweizer-Käsewerk by Franz Seraph Bauer. The company is based in Wasserburg am Inn in Upper Bavaria . The veterinary control number of the factory in Wasserburg is BY 112 .
The dairy is one of the largest yoghurt producers in the Federal Republic of Germany and, according to its own information, has a market share of around 10% in the fruit yoghurt segment. Bauer exports to more than 20 European and non-European countries.
In 1948 the Bauer Frischdienst department was created , which was spun off in 2009 and has since been a legally independent company, Bauer Frischdienst GmbH .
In 2007, Bauer took over the Elsdorf- based company Heideblume Molkerei Elsdorf-Rotenburg AG .
In 2015, around 464 million kg of milk were processed, with yoghurt production accounting for around three quarters.
