history
In 1946 Josef Anstoetz from Bielefeld founded a wholesaler for decoration and upholstery fabrics; the abbreviation JAB stands for Josef Anstoetz Bielefeld . After the sudden death of the company founder, his nephew Heinz Anstoetz took over the company in 1955. Gradually, the company grew and subsidiaries such as the upholstered furniture factory BW Bielefelder Werkstätten or JAB Anstoetz Teppiche were founded. At the beginning of 1976 the company already had 507 employees worldwide. In 1985 Heinz Anstoetz's son, Ralph Anstoetz, joined the company. His two brothers Claus (1989) and Stephan (1993) followed a few years later. After the company's 50th anniversary in 1996, Heinz Anstoetz withdrew from the operative business. After his death in 1998 the company was renamed JAB Josef Anstoetz KG.
