The KK Jasdaq Shōken Torihikijo ( Japanese 株式会社 ジ ャ ス ダ ッ ク 証券 取 引 所 , Kabushiki kaisha Jasudakku Shōken Torihikisho , English Jasdaq Securities Exchange, Inc. ) was a stock exchange with headquarters in Chūō , Tokyo , Japan .
Today Jasdaq is the trading name of the Osaka Shōken Torihikijo (English Osaka Securities Exchange ) in Osaka .
JASDAQ is not affiliated with NASDAQ in the US, but works similarly with an electronic platform.
history
In 1963, the Nippon Shōkengyō Kyōkai ( 日本 証券業協会 , English Japan Securities Dealers Association ) set up an OTC securities trade . This system was placed under the newly founded company Nippon Tentō Shōken KK ( 日本 店 頭 証券 株式会社 , English Japan OTC Securities Co., Ltd. ) in June 1976 . The Jasdaq Index was calculated from October 1991. With the withdrawal from the securities business in December 1998 changed its name to KK Jasdaq Service ( 株式会社ジャスダック·サービス , Kabushiki-gaisha Jasudakku Sābisu , Eng. Jasdaq Service, Inc. ) and in February 2001 to KK Jasdaq ( 株式会社ジャスダック , English . Jasdaq Inc. ). After receiving a stock exchange license, the name was changed to KK Jasdaq Shōken Torihikijo .
In December 2008 the company became a subsidiary of Ōsaka Shōken Torihikijo ( Osaka Securities Exchange , OSE), in September 2009 the Jasdaq trading system was integrated into that of the OSE, and finally on April 1, 2010 the company was completely taken over and JASDAQ with NEO and Nippon New Market-Hercules united.
