JAW (group)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JAW is a band of the three Lüneburg musicians Pascal Finkenauer (guitar and vocals), Sebastian Steffens (keyboards) and Kristian Draude (drums).

In 2000 their first and only album "No blue Peril" was released with electropop songs, in which influences from drum and bass , techno and rock mix, to texts that use a metaphor.

The website Jawfactory.com, which was later relaunched, was intended to form a platform for artists from different directions based on the music of JAW. The band members themselves deal with writing, photography and short films .

The name of both the band and the album alludes to the turmoil between euphoria and chaos in life and uses the metaphor of crossing borders while surfing on a giant wave, based on Jaws Beach on Maui , which is famous for its waves .

A second album called "Le Roxy" was reportedly in the works but was never released. The singer Pascal Finkenauer has been involved in solo projects since 2004. Programmer and keyboard player Sebastian Steffens released a solo album in 2010 (JFSebastian: Hundeleben), on March 3, 2012 the successor "Bar Le Canard" was released. Drummer Kristian Draude worked in the meantime as a model and presented, among other things, men's fashion in the Otto catalog.
