The Journal of Management ( J Manage, J Mgt, JOM ) is a peer-reviewed journal for management . The magazine is published by SAGE Publications for the Southern Management Association . The magazine mainly publishes empirical and theoretical research results on the topics that have a high influence on management. The journal covers the following areas:

The JOM is published every two months as well as two editions in January and July, which are referred to as Review Issues and which discuss widely read and cited articles in the field of knowledge. The editor-in-chief has been the American human resources expert and university professor David G. Allen since July 1, 2017. In July 2020, the editorial team is to be handed over to the expert for corporate governance , Professor Brian Connelly from Auburn University, who has been familiar with the routines and processes of the journal as editor-elect with his predecessor since July 2019.

Impact

The journal is one of the most influential magazines for management and is listed by the Financial Times in the top 50 journals. Every year around 1200 articles are received for publication, of which around 8% are also published. In 2018, the journal was rated 3rd out of 217 journals for management, 4th out of 147 in business and 1st out of 82 for applied psychology. The impact factor was 9,056 in 2018. Researchgate gives an impact factor of 4.6 for 2018 and the highest value for this magazine for 2009 of 8.45.
