The JUVE legal information is a press publishing company, which reports in their own journals and manuals, as well as on its websites over the business law market in Germany and Austria. In February 2016, the publishing house was taken over by NWB Verlag from Herne with retroactive effect to the beginning of the year .

Publications

Since 1998 the publisher has reported regularly on law firms that provide business advice in Germany. A weekly e-mail newsletter , the monthly JUVE Rechtsmarkt magazine and the annual JUVE Commercial Law Firms Manual are published. The latter also appears in English translation as German Commercial Law Firms. There are also news about law firms, proceedings and deals on the publisher's homepage.

For young lawyers who are still studying or doing their legal clerkship , the publisher also publishes the magazine "azur", which reports on career opportunities for lawyers and alternatives to the legal profession, as well as the annual edition azur100, in which 100 employers for lawyers are to be portrayed.

Since September 2012, the "JUVE - magazine for business lawyers" has been published in Austria every two months.

Litigation

In 1999, two lawyers based in Munich filed a lawsuit against the publisher . The complaint was that the ranking lists contained in the JUVE Handbook of Commercial Law Firms, which are not based on any objective assessment basis, impair performance competition and can be viewed as camouflaged commercial advertising. The Munich Higher Regional Court upheld the appeal . Thereupon, since the Federal Court of Justice denied the appeal , the publisher lodged a constitutional complaint with the Federal Constitutional Court . This was granted on August 1, 2002 due to the new assessment basis of the ranking lists for the 5th edition of the manual.

JUVE Awards

Once a year, the publisher awards the JUVE Awards to law firms and corporate legal departments in various categories . The nomination and award criteria are not disclosed. At the same time, aid organizations selected by the jury - for example the refugee sponsors Syria in 2015 - received a donation from the nominees' auditorium instead of participation fees.
