Jaḫdun-Lim was king of Mari in the late 19th century BC. And followed his father Jaggid-Lim to the throne. Official inscriptions document extensive construction work in its capital as well as irrigation projects in the surrounding area. It can be assumed, however, that he undertook several campaigns that became the basis for the subsequent flourishing of Mari. These were directed against Semitic tribes and principalities in the surrounding area and thus primarily secured important trade routes. He was eventually of Ila-Kabkabi , the father of Samsi-Adad I. killed. Thereupon his son Sumu-Adad came to the throne for a short time before he was replaced by Šamši-Adad I by his son Jasmaḫ-Addu .
