Life

Although he started learning to play the accordion at the age of five, his musical career did not begin until 1998 when he recorded his first record “Ja, ja”, which was aimed at children. In 1990 he founded the jazz-pop group Les Mecaniciens and released three albums with them. When Les Mecaniciens disbanded in 1993, Jabier began his solo career as a singer-songwriter. His music contains elements of rock, pop and jazz. In addition to his work as a singer-songwriter, he founded the group Joxe Ripiau with Sergio Ordóñez and his brother Iñigo. By their breakup in 2000 they released four albums. In the course of his solo career, he released a total of eight albums, which were often rated very positively by music critics.

Jabier Muguruza's writing career began in the 1990s when he started the literary community "Emak Bakia" with Bernardo Atxaga , Ruper Ordorika , José Mari Iturralde and others. In 1994 Muguruza published his first children's book "Sei lagun, sei sekretu", which was followed by four other children's books and two for adults.
