Jac Jacobsen
Jac Jacobsen (born June 5, 1901 in Oslo , † 1996 ) was a Norwegian designer .
Life
After years of work in the textile industry (1921 to 1934) Jac Jacobsen traveled to Europe. In 1937 he developed the Luxo-L1 lamp with the scissor arm system, which is now exhibited in many museums around the world as an example of classic lamp design . The basis for this was the Anglepoise joint principle developed by George Carwardine in 1933 for a Terry & Sons table lamp , which is based on the dimensions and function of the human arm .
