Jack Dyer
John Raymond "Jack" Dyer OAM (born November 13, 1913 in Oakleigh , Victoria , Australia ; † August 23, 2003 in Melbourne , Victoria) was one of the best-known Australian rules football players in Australia .
He played between 1931 and 1949 a total of 312 times for the Richmond Football Club ( Richmond Tigers ). With the team he took part in the championship finals, the Grand Final, seven times. In 1934 and 1943, Dyer won the Grand Finals with Richmond. In 1932, 1937, 1938-1940 and 1946 he was voted the club's best and fairest player.
During his time as a player, he was also the team's coach. In 1949 Jack Dyer resigned as a player and three years later as a coach.
He then worked as a radio and television commentator.
