Live and act

Jackie Walker was a student at UCLA University in the 1950s and early 1960s. Walker recorded his first record in 1954 for Imperial Records on "Big Fat Fib / Little Too Little". This was followed by 3 singles for Chevron Records, one of which was released in 1957 on Dot Records in a pop style mixed with country . He made several local hit lists with "On The Way Home / Love Sublime," followed by a contract with Imperial Records . His next single there, Peggy Sue , was a cover of the hit Buddy Holly . In early 1958, Imperial released Only Teenagers Allowed / Oh Lonesome Me, a much "heavier" rockabilly single with Joe Maphis on guitar. The B-side Oh Lonesome Me was again a cover, this time by country star Don Gibson . Walker's last single with Imperial was released in the summer of 1958 with Good, Good Feelin ' , written by Johnny and Dorsey Burnette . Walker then sang in the doo-wop group The Baysiders with Sally Stevens, Jim Mitchell and Jim Patton . Solo recordings for Everest, Montclare, Nico and his own Tidal label followed. In later years he successfully produced several Christian albums, TV shows and plays and has now also written 4 books.
