Jacopo Vigneri

Jacopo Vigneri or Vignerio (active in Messina in the mid-16th century ) was an Italian Renaissance painter in Sicily .

Vigneri was a student of Polidoro da Caravaggio , who lived in Messina from 1535 at the latest. Further life dates are not known. Works by his hand have been found in Messina, Catania and Taormina , including two copies of Raphael's "Lo Spasimo" (Carrying the Cross) signed by him , the original of which was made by Raphael for the church of Santa Maria Lo Spasimo (Palermo).
