Jacques Fleury (librettist)

Jacques Fleury (* 1730 ; † 1775 ) was a French writer, librettist and composer.

Fleury worked as a lawyer for the municipal parliament of Paris. He published two collections of poetry: Chansons maçonnes , Paris 1760 and Les Folies, ou poésies diverses de M. Fl. **** , Avignon 1761. With Ignace Hugary de Lamarche-Courmont , he impartially published the magazine Le Littérateur . As a librettist and composer, he has worked on several operas, including Le Miroir magique , La Mort du Goret , Le Rossignol (with Gabriel-Charles Lattaignant ) and Le Bouquet du roi (with Jean-Joseph Vadé ). He was also the author of the burlesque La Mort de Goret (1753).
