Jacques Laudy
Jacques Laudy (born April 7, 1907 in Schaerbeek ; † July 28, 1993 ) was a Belgian cartoonist .
Career
Laudy's father Jean Laudy as well as his mother Hélène Demoulin were painters. At the art academy in Brussels he met Jacques Van Melkebeke in 1923 . In 1940 he got a job in Bravo to work as an illustrator and draftsman. His first comic was published in 1944.
Along with Hergé , Edgar P. Jacobs and Paul Cuvelier, he was one of the first draftsmen to publish in Tintin in 1946 . He particularly took on historical material. In Hassan et Kaddour also fantastic elements were incorporated. However, since he saw himself more as an artist than a comic strip artist, he turned to painting in 1962.
