Jacques Rampal (born 1944 in Constantine , Algeria , † December 19, 2015 in Paris ) was a French playwright.

Jacques Rampal began his career as a cartoonist, including for political drawings at L'Èvenement du Jeudi . He also published 19 humor albums.

His first play, Célimène and the Cardinal , won three Molière (theater) awards in 1993. It continues the story of the heroes from Molières The Misanthrope, Célimène and Alceste. In 2006 Rampal directed the play himself with Claude Jade and Patrick Préjean in the leading roles. Other pieces by Rampal are La fille à la trompette , Profession de fou , Alma Mahler, la fiancée du vent and Esméralda (based on the character from Victor Hugo's Notre Dame de Paris ).
