Hunting ship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A ship used to transport urgent goods in river navigation used to be called a hunting ship. After the Congress of Vienna there was a draft for the regulation of navigation on the Rhine dated March 24, 1815, which regulated that hunting ships always had to be ready for the journey between Bremen and Hann. Münden . While all other skippers were obliged to help a ship that had crashed under threat of punishment, a ship on a hunt was allowed to provide assistance for a maximum of six hours.

Later on, submarines were also referred to as submarines .
