Lists on the subject

A hunting sword is an edged weapon that was used in the 15th and 16th centuries. In the 18th century, large game was caught, often on horseback. Most hunting swords belonged to the so-called hand -and-a-half swords, so they had a relatively long handle to compensate for the long blade.

A special form of the hunting sword is the boar sword . Later, instead of a hunting sword, the lighter hunting rapier or the shorter hunter's hunter was used.
