Jaggi Vasudev

Jaggi Vasudev (born September 3, 1957 in Mysore , Karnataka , India ), commonly known as Sadhguru, is an Indian yogi , mystic and best-selling author.

Life

He founded the Isha Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers yoga programs around the world and is involved in social, educational, and environmental initiatives.

He grew up in a Telugu-speaking family and was the youngest of his four siblings - two boys and two girls. His mother was a housewife and his father was an ophthalmologist on the Indian Railway. The family moved frequently because of his father's activities.

Jaggi Vasudev attended Mahajana Pre-University. He graduated in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in English.

On April 13, 2017, he received the Padma Vibhushan , the second highest civilian award in India, from the Indian government for his services in the social field .
