Jaime Arturo Lozano Espín

Jaime Arturo Lozano Espín (born September 29, 1979 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican soccer player , who is also known by the nicknames Jimmy Lozano and El Actor . The second nickname comes from his origins in a family of actors. Lozano, who is mostly used in midfield, is a feared free-kick taker with a strong left foot.

Career in the club

Jaime Lozano made his professional debut in the Mexican Primera División in 1998 wearing the UNAM Pumas , for which he was under contract until 2001. In the 2001/02 season he completed a one-year stint at Atlético Celaya before returning to his hometown and winning both championships of 2004 with the Pumas - first the Clausura and then the Apertura. After that, however, he did not receive a new contract there and so he moved to the UANL Tigres in summer 2005 . But he was not happy there either, because he was finally removed from the first team and put in the Tigres Los Mochis farm team playing in the second division . In autumn 2007 he gratefully accepted an offer from the CD Cruz Azul , which not only allowed him to return to the first division, but also to the capital, where his family and friends live.

National team

The Panini collector's picture with the number 253 for the 2006 World Cup in Germany proves: Lozano, who had already played in the World Cup qualifiers, was considered a hot contender for the appointment to the World Cup squad of the Mexican national team . But poor performance in the run-up to the tournament ultimately meant that he was only allowed to watch the World Cup from his home screen.
