Jaitpur was a princely state in the Bundelkhand region of British India in what is now the state of Uttar Pradesh .

The principality of the Bundela - Rajputs was created in 1731 by dividing Panna inheritance , the first Raja was Jagat Rai. In 1765 Ajaigarh was separated. In 1807 Jaitpur became a British protectorate , dissolved in 1849 after the childless death of Raja Khet Singh and incorporated into the Hamirpur district of the United Provinces .
