Company history

March 24, 1898 is assumed to be the founding date, as the company's first contract with the city of Kaiserslautern for the removal of household waste from the city of Kaiserslautern was concluded at this time . Originally based in the city of Kaiserslautern, the company moved to Mehlingen in 1963, where it is still based today.

Jakob Becker has held a stake in Zentek since 1995 . Zentek is a joint venture of the leading independent waste management companies in Germany, founded in 1995. The shareholders of Zentek are the companies Jakob Becker GmbH & Co. KG (Mehlingen), Nehlsen AG (Bremen) and Stratmann Städtereinigung GmbH & Co. KG (Bestwig). Karl Tönsmeier Entsorgungswirtschaft GmbH & Co. KG (Porta Westfalica) left the group of shareholders in 2011.

In July 2008, the company took over the Ludwigshafen-based demolition and land recycling specialists Scherer + Kohl .
