Zentek is a company founded in 1995 as an independent waste disposal company in Germany. Zentek operates nationwide waste disposal systems for companies that operate nationwide. According to the company, Zentek generated sales of around 98 million euros in 2018.
history
Zentek was founded in 1995 as a joint venture of independent German waste disposal companies. The shareholders are the companies Jakob Becker GmbH & Co. KG , Nehlsen AG and Stratmann Städtereinigung GmbH & Co. KG; the Karl Tönsmeier waste management GmbH & Co. KG 2011 (Porta Westfalica) resigned from the group of shareholders, but is still partners in business operations. Zentek acts as a legally independent company and draws on the infrastructure of the shareholders and other companies in the industry.
The Zentek system center in Cologne takes on the central processing of the disposal orders according to uniform conditions, while the actual disposal service is carried out by Zentek shareholders and Zentek system disposal companies as well as other companies. The network of Zentek system disposal companies and their partners includes around 1000 locations in Germany.
Since January 2019, Zentek has been the owner of Entsorgungs Punkt DE GmbH and operator of internet portals such as Entsorgungs.de and containerdienst.de . Since 2019, the Zentek Group has also been divided into Zentek Services GmbH & Co. KG with the business areas "Nationwide site disposal", "Disposal of transport packaging", "Disposal of old electrical appliances" and "Digital Services" and Zentek GmbH & Co. KG who operates the dual system Zentek. The Zentek Pool System GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Zentek Services GmbH & Co. KG .
Zentek is a member of the “Success Factor Family” company network of the Federal Ministry for Family and has signed the Diversity Charter , an initiative of the Federal Commissioner for Integration.
Business areas
Disposal of sales packaging
With the dual system Zentek, Zentek operates one of ten approved systems. In contrast to other dual systems, the Zentek system is supported by waste disposal companies, as Zentek has its own disposal capacities for sales packaging through its shareholders. Zentek compensates for the resulting greenhouse gases by promoting climate-friendly projects in cooperation with FirstClimate .
Nationwide site disposal
With nationwide site disposal in the areas of construction, trade, motor vehicles and other areas, thousands of sources are disposed of nationwide.
Disposal of transport packaging
Zentek takes over disposal for manufacturers and dealers who take back and recycle their transport packaging after use in accordance with the Packaging Act .
Disposal of waste electrical equipment
Zentek takes over the registration of old electrical and electronic devices with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR) and takes care of the recycling or disposal of old devices. Zentek has its own disposal capacities and maintains partnerships with recovery and recycling companies in this area.
