The Jaman Tunnel ( French tunnel de Jaman ) is a 2424 meter long, single-lane, narrow-gauge railway tunnel in the Swiss western Alps. The tunnel, opened in 1903, is the most important structure of the Montreux – Berner Oberland Railway (MOB), ( French : Chemin de fer Montreux-Oberland bernois), which is of particular tourist interest.
The tunnel lies in a straight line and is located at a height of approx. 1100 meters between the Les Cases station in the canton of Friborg and Jor near Les Avants in the canton of Vaud , on the Montreux - Château-d'Oex section . The tunnel, which runs almost in a west-east direction, crosses under the 1512 meter high Col de Jaman alpine pass . Its surroundings are of a pre-Alpine character.
