Jamanak

Jamanak ( Armenian Ժամանակ Jamanag , German 'time' ) is a Turkish daily newspaper in the Armenian language that has been published in Istanbul since 1908 . It appears Monday through Saturday with an edition of around 1500 copies. The newspaper is sold in Armenian neighborhoods in Istanbul and serves the Armenian diaspora outside Istanbul by subscription. The associated newspaper publisher has been owned by the von Misag Koçunyan family since it was founded.

The sheet follows a Turkish line; In the 1980s, when the Armenian Asala pointed to the genocide of the Armenians by Turkey through attacks , Jamanak portrayed the Turks as the savior and protector of the Armenians.

Among other things, contributed Krikor Zohrab , Taniel Varus Chan , Vahan Tekeyan , Eruchan , Gomidas , Hovhannes Tumanyan , Teotig , Arshaguhi Teotig , Ruben Sevak , Zabel Yesayan , Sibil , Nigoghos Sarafian , Vazken Shushanyan , Zareh Vorpuni , Nshan Beshiktashlian , Hagop Mntsuri , MSHO Kegham , Zahrad , Zaven Biberyan , Toros Azadyan and Minas Tölelyan contributed to the newspaper.

With its uninterrupted publication since October 28, 1908, Jamanak is the oldest daily newspaper in Turkey.
