James Carlos Blake

James Carlos Blake (born May 26, 1947 in Tampico , Mexico ) is an American author of novels, short stories and essays. His works, which are often violent, are largely about social outsiders or outlaws . Among other things, he was awarded the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for the novel The Evil In Blood .

Life

Blake was born in Mexico as an American. After graduating from high school and serving with the US Army paratroopers , he studied in Florida and taught at college until 1997. Since then he has lived as a freelance writer in Texas.
