James Duban

James Duban (* 1951 ) is an American literary scholar.

He studied English literature at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (BA 1972) and Cornell University (MA 1975, Ph, D. 1976). From 1977 to 1992 he taught at the University of Texas at Austin , since 1989 as a full professor. In 1992 he moved to the University of North Texas , where he now heads the English department.

His main research interests are in American romantic literature and Jewish-American literature .
