James Nares (painter)

James Nares (* 1953 in London ) is an English painter, photographer and video artist.

Nares attended the Falmouth Art School and from 1972 the Chelsea Art School . As part of a student exchange program, he studied at the School of Visual Arts from 1974 to 1976 . Since then he has lived and worked in the USA. With his paintings he had numerous solo exhibitions a. a. in New York, Los Angeles, London, Cologne and Madrid. In addition to being a painter, he was also known as a film and video artist and photographer. His works were u. a. Collected and exhibited by the Museum of Modern Art , the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Wadsworth Atheneum .
