James Oyebola (born June 10, 1961 in Lagos , Nigeria , † July 27, 2007 in London ) was a British boxer . His nickname was Big Bad .
Career
James Oyebola was a bronze medalist at the 1986 Commonwealth Games . From 1994 to 1996 he was also British heavyweight champion.
death
On July 23, 2007, Oyebola was shot in the face and irreversibly injured in the early hours of the morning in the front yard of a nightclub after he had asked a group of three young men to comply with the smoking ban in the outdoor area of public restaurants in Great Britain since July 2007. His family eventually decided to stop life support, and Oyebola passed away.
