James Signorile

James Vincent Signorile (* 1952 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American composer.

Signorile had piano lessons from the age of eight. He studied composition at Ridgewood High School with Murray B. Colosimo and John Lochner and until 1974 at Colby College in Waterville / Maine with Hindemith students Peter Ré , Ermanno F. Comparetti and Gordon W. Bowie . He was a member, composer, conductor and vice president of the Colby College Concert Band and the Colby Community Symphony Orchestra, with which he also performed his own works. In 1974 he received the Colby College Band Award . He received his piano training from Gates Wray , a student of Vladimir Horowitz . He also plays the clarinet, saxophone, recorder and guitar and was first bass clarinetist in the Ramapo Wind Symphony . In addition, he studied computer science at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck / New Jersey until 1992 .
