Jamie's School Dinners was a four-part documentary series that was broadcast in Great Britain on Channel 4 (German broadcast on RTL II ). In the series, chef Jamie Oliver tried to improve the quality and nutritional value of school food at Kidbroke School in Greenwich , a quintessentially British school. This resulted in the extensive “Feed Me Better” campaign.

Results of the broadcast

More than 270,000 people signed an online petition on the Feed Me Better website that was brought to 10 Downing Street on March 30, 2005 . The British government and then Prime Minister Tony Blair then promised to improve the food in schools. The "Turkey Twizzlers" (consisting of mechanically separated meat ) were banned from the English school kitchen and in the course of the campaign the Labor government promised to provide an additional 280 million pounds for school meals.
