Jamner is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra . The city is located on the banks of the Hivra River .
The city is part of the Jalgaon District . Jamner has municipal council status . The city is divided into 20 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 467.62 inhabitants, of which 24,270 were men and 22,492 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 62%. Muslims form a minority of 29%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 83.05%, well above the national average.
