Autograph by Jan Højland Nielsen from the 1977/78 season

Jan Højland Nielsen (born January 15, 1952 in Frederiksberg ) is a former Danish football player who made the leap into the Danish national team and who was in the service of TSV 1860 Munich between 1974 and 1979 .

career

Nielsen started playing football at the age of seven. Since the age of 16 he played for the traditional Danish club B 93 Copenhagen . There he last acted as a center forward and in 1974 was the top scorer in the second Danish soccer league with 18 goals. He had thus drawn the attention of the Munich Lions, who signed him before the 1974/75 season. Despite his goal danger, which should have been decisive for his commitment, he was first used as a libero and later in midfield.

Nielsen was promoted to the Bundesliga twice in 1860 Munich , but only played one season (1977/78) in the top German soccer class, as he returned to his home country after the second promotion in 1979, where he again signed on with the B 93.
